Thompson Rose Company, Inc. has been supplying the floral industry for over 35 years. The company started in Carlsbad, CA with the production of fresh cut roses and other cut flower types for nationwide distribution, and added indoor houseplants in 1974 as they saw import flowers as a threat to domestic cut flower production.
The ‘Year 2000’ saw the start of production at a new site in San Marcos, CA. The relocation allowed them to enter the new millennium with 165,000 sq. ft. of ‘leading edge and state of the art’ production facilities. Computer controlled environments allows Thompson Rose to produce the high quality ‘cool grown’ products that they are known for. Their ‘cool grown’ plants and selection of the best cultivars mean customers receive a plant that will travel better and last longer in any environment.
Though Thompson Rose no longer grows fresh cut roses, their Indoor Houseplant Department still produces a multitude of varieties of plants in 2 ¼", 4", 6 ½", and 8 ½" pots. These are in uniform terra cotta-colored pots. They grow 12 varieties of ferns, 8 varieties of ficus, 21 varieties of 2 ¼" plants, and 50+ varieties of 4" plants. This makes Thompson Rose Company an excellent source for one-stop shopping.
